Why I Quit Teaching At Pacific College of Oriental Medicine
Posted November 11th, 2008 by allen_stovallJust so there is no confusion...as I have been around PCOM for almost 10 years as a student and teacher. I really enjoy teaching. I do appreciate the opportunity PCOM gave me. But, I knew it was a training experience for me as I am diametrically opposed to the perspective and point of view of PCOM. Rumors and innuendo will surely be flying. I have seen so many good teachers and other staff quit PCOM and then hear the admin trash them. This article is to dispel "rumors" that seem to be obvious disinformation to undermine me. I did not get fired...I quit.

Posted October 6th, 2008 by allen_stovallDoes your Acupuncture school or practice inspire you? Are you frustrated by the lack of enthusiasm you have? We all start school or our practice imagining what it will be like. Too often, we become frustrated by what it is. Too many schools simply focus on testing. Why is that? This is how prospective students choose what school they should go to on one level. If a school has a 50% board pass rate, it obviously appears to be a less quality school than one with a 90% pass rate. But one needs to ask why, if the curriculum is basically the same in both schools.
What is Healing?
Posted September 24th, 2008 by allen_stovallTo treat the physical body and it's ailments and symptoms alone does not bring about healing.
The ultimate healing is freedom from spiritual ignorance. The inability of the Spirit’s expression within us is the root of all other ills.
