Piercing the Truth
Posted May 13th, 2010 by allen_stovallThe first book in the Piercing the Truth Acupuncture Series is complete! I will have the book online as a ebook very soon. Providing it as an ebook will save costs in production and in turn I can forward those savings to the practitioner and student.
The first book is Cultivating the Healer. It details how each practitioner is not only different, but also how to enhance your level of unique qualities to benefit your patient.
These concepts are avoided in most Acupuncture colleges.
Boosting Jing
Posted May 9th, 2010 by allen_stovallI've talked a lot about Jing, because it is so important to our health. Jing is our essence, our core vitality that is stored within the Kidney system. There are many causes for a depletion in Jing. Age, chronic injury and pain, overwork, stress, childbirth and sexual activity to name a few.
Jing is more than the foundation of our sexual and fertility, it has a great influence on our emotional well-being and psyche as well. Decreased Jing can cause anxiety, forgetfulness, depression, lack of interest in life and outbursts of anger.
Is Your Acupuncture School Failing You?
Posted May 4th, 2010 by allen_stovallLet me answer that for you..YES! Not only will they waste your time and money with years of herbal formulas, few will learn how to use the needle effectively.
You see, some schools are good, some schools are only a business. There is little value placed on your excellence beyond the CALE test scores.
The problem for these schools is that their test scores keep going down.
Sleepless in San Diego?
Posted May 4th, 2010 by allen_stovallAre you sleepless in San Diego? There can be many causes for insomnia. Overthinking and anxiety are the most common. One of the great Chinese herbal formulas for this is Gui Pi Wan. This formula also comes in pill form and is available at any Chinese Herb store. If the insomnia is severe there are several other herbal formulas and dietary changes you may take.
Cause of Illness
Posted May 1st, 2010 by allen_stovallThe teachings of the Medicine Buddha describe only three illnesses, which are the cause of all our suffering
1.Greed
This is not limited to material wealth as we would imagine, but the inability to be satiated with what we have.
2. Ignorance
This is not the amount of knowledge we posses, rather it is the Ignorance that we are eternally connected and part of the divine.
3. Anger
Anger is the most disruptive of all emotions, it scatters the Qi, or vital energy and creates discord within the mind and body.
Spring Wind
Posted April 30th, 2010 by allen_stovallSpring is upon us and pollen is everywhere. There is an abundance of energy and spring winds are blowing. The Nei Jing states that "Wind is the cause of the 10,000 diseases."
In ancient times, 10,000 would be a million or a billion to us. Few people in ancient times could count, let alone to 10,000. What that tells us is that wind taxes our immune system. The Spring is the time of the Liver/Gall Bladder. Traditional medicines even in Europe taught to cover ones neck during this time, to protect the Liver.
"You cannot master medicine until you have studied the Book of Changes"
